DIY Quake Towers

Ross Stein and Volkan Sevilgen, from the USGS, have created a nifty little DIY project to easily show what can happen to your house during an earthquake.

Plans for building your own model can be downloaded from their website.

It's amazing to see how adding simple post-construction braces can dramatically cut down on your home's response to earthquakes.
